A family guy speaking to his Anglican in-laws:

Next week, when I tell you that I am sick of my middle aged wife, she nags, she has these habits that I really don't like, and being with her makes me feel old and unattractive, and that I am moving out to be with my young and quite attractive receptionist who makes me feel young, virile, and happy, you will want to say that this is bad, that I am a cad, that I am acting immorally. I would expect you to actually say or at least think these things.

But the words are without bite and the authority of a coherent theory of right and wrong, good and bad. First, I know that if instead of my female receptionist it was a male lover, that would be something beyond my control, fundamental to my happiness and not something you could deny me. In fact, such behavior does not disqualify one from being a moral leader (as you just explicitly demonastrated). Unlike thirty years ago, I can run off with a young woman and not hurt my business, not hurt my standing in the community (I could serve on philanthropic boards etc.), and in fact my standing in the church (which would be pleased to marry me serially to young woman)."
