MARRIAGE DEMOGRAPHICS: David Blankenhorn replies to Michael Triplett
[Sorry this took me so long to post! --Eve] According to demographers, the main reason that divorce rates are lower in New England and the Midwest, as compared to the South and West, is that NE and the MW have populations that are a) older; b) more affluent; and c) less transient. All three of those factors favor lower divorce rates. |
