BTW: On the FDA/Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse
regarding my previous post: I think the short-circuiting of political deliberation is one reason why there is so much weight and pressure on the FDA's approval process of contraceptive products. State legislatures are not allowed to say, "we think this contraceptve device X is a bad idea in context Y for reason Z." If the FDA approves it, it's legal. So any legitimate concerns people have get driven into debates over the FDA approval process, because there is no political process available to deal with it. |
